On the unforgiving and harsh Alaskan coast, the Chugach people have lived for hundreds of years fishing and hunting to survive. With the steadfastness of these Alaskan natives in mind, Gil Hibben designed the Hibben Chugach Hunter Knife to be that fixed blade you don’t leave home without. Now, this special edition version, is crafted with unique, premium materials. The knife has a razor-sharp, 4 1/2” premium 1.4116 German steel upswept blade with aggressive thumb jimping. This premium stainless steel has a hardness rating of 56-58 HRC and the abilitiy to retain an edge far beyond more common stainless steels, making this steel ideal for a knife designed to skin wild game. The genuine stag handle has brass handle pins, plus, a lanyard hole and the hand guard is solid, polished brass. The 8 3/4” overall fixed blade slides securely into a leather belt sheath with a snap closure handle strap and top-stitching.
